Can I just say it again? How much I love your blog and your style? ;) Crater Lake is a top desination for me - I have heard amazing tales, and I truly want to see this Deep Blue Lake in person someday. You say your photos don't come close, but I think they are amazing all the same.

And I love geology and environmental studies - so seeing this vast difference from one side of the mtn to the other is just my cup of tea. Stunning.

...and the ground squirrels are cute ;)

I greatly enjoy reading your blog and seeing your artwork. And no doubt you have answered this question before, but the location/date stamps that you have on your paintings - are those yours, or do you get them stamped by the park you are visiting? Many thanks!

Crater Lake is one of my most favorite places. We go back about every couple of years, and it never gets old.

If you find yourself back there a little later in the season some time be sure to take the boat tour. It's really something else!

Also, a hike up Mt. Scott. It's the highest peak in the park and you can see just about forever from up there.
